Emerging media comes in many forms. Now it is nothing for a charity to promote their fundraiser online. One example of this fundraising technique is the country music group MJ2. The group is made up of not one twin but two twins. Both sets of twins have one twin named Jackie and one Twin named Mollie and they sound amazing! They recorded a song with celebrity friends and are donating the money to Charity.
The release of, “You Can’t Say Love Enough,” is a musical event brought to you through SweetSong Nashville. The producer of the song and president of SweetSong Nashville is also my brother. The all star single, featuring Dolly Parton, Wayne Newton, Heidi Newfield and many more will raise untold dollars for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Diabetes Research and Outreach.
Both the younger Mollie in the MJ2 group and my brother Dennis Money has Diabetes. So MJ2 along with SweetSong Nashville have created the Diabetic Angels organization to raise money for diabetic research.
Help this worthy cause by downloading the song “You Can’t Say Love Enough” for .99 cents and provide your feedback on the iTunes. iTunes has promoted the song as “new and noteworthy” in the country section which is a big accomplishment for MJ2.
Please visit http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/you-cant-say-love-enough-jdrf-celebrity/id338847573 and buy the song, its only $0.99! Also, you can learn more about the song here: http://grahamgrid.com/mj2/index.htm.

New media have become great tools for all kinds of people to spread the word about so many different events, causes and specials. The MJ2 ladies have shown exactly this with the release of the video you mentioned in this post!
Another one of my favorite new media forms is Facebook. While on the surface it is a way for friends to stay in touch, a further investigation reveals how important Facebook can be for spreading the word. Without Facebook, I wouldn’t have known about your blog, for example! Add Chick-Fil-A at Patteson Drive in Morgantown to your friends list for an awesome example of how a business can reach potential audiences through Facebook.
Great post!

Comment by Julie December 14, 2009 @ 2:06 amHi Julie, I think the MJ2 ladies are awesome and I believe this song will hit the charts soon while making money for a great cause. Facebook is my favorite forms of media too. I’m a fan of the Chick-Fil-A page with over one million fans, but I’ll have to check out the Morgantown. Thanks for the information! -Robin
Comment by gotnvols December 21, 2009 @ 10:59 pmMore than emerging media, I would say the “merging” of media is the term to describe how social media will continue to impact marketing strategies. Traditional advertising will be around for some time, but with social media, the marketer has a way to interact on a level never before possible. Brand development, market message still relies upon those traditional methods, but are now enhanced by the ability to receive immediate reaction and interaction to those efforts.
Comment by Tim Knight December 14, 2009 @ 3:45 amHi Tim, Thanks for your insight on my blog. You nailed it when you said emerging media is a method to enhance traditional media. I agree the new way you can track social media is exciting, but it will never replace traditional media. -Robin
Comment by gotnvols December 21, 2009 @ 10:51 pmNew media is a great way for non-profits to fundraise! I’ve personally seen and responded to several local initiatives I’ve heard about (through a friend of a friend of a friend) on Facebook. People will spread the word for a good cause, and for the non-profit, it’s basically free word of mouth!
Comment by liz carroll December 16, 2009 @ 2:56 amI’m also chairing my local Relay for Life in 2010 and we are encouraging our teams to collect money online. This is a great way to obtain money by debit or credit card for people that don’t carry a lot of cash. This also helps the teams reach people via email that they may not see in person.
Comment by gotnvols December 21, 2009 @ 10:47 pmI think this is a great tool for charities. This gets the goup’s song out there & exposed. Not to mention, it’s raising money for great cause. Since this is downloaded via the internet, the charge for doing so is very cheap! The producers don’t have to worry about getting Joe Blow customer to actually “BUY” the CD. This in turn generates more revenue for the charity. $0.99 download versus $4.99 single CD this is a no brainer especially in today’s economy!
